Transcript from the Online Recruitment Telegraph - Issue 1 - video

James Macdonald presented 3 frequently asked questions. The answers to these questions will make your life easier when using Turborecruit.

1 Q Can I use Turborecruit in IE 9.0?

A. RecruitAdvantage is in the process of making Turborecruit IE9.0 compliant, until such time you can use Turbo in IE 9.0 by following these steps

a) Open up Turbo in IE9.0
b) Select F12 on your computer, a small window will open up at the bottom of the page with a list of menu items
c) Select Browser Mode of “Internet Explorer 8.0”
d) Close the window

You will now be viewing Turborecruit in IE8.0.

2 Q. How can I get more out of my Turborecruit screening questions?

A. Yes. If you have the screening questions module and you are on one of the more recent versions of Turborecruit you can create “Off Line” screening questions. When you are creating a screening question all you need to do is determine if the question is “On line” (in which case the candidate answers as part of the application process) or “Off Line”; in which case the consultant can complete on behalf of the candidate. All the consultant needs to do is attach the screening question to the advertisement, and then after candidates apply the consultant can enter the candidates record and the “Screening Questions” tab. The consultant can then enter the candidates answers to the questions.

3 Q. Why don’t my adverts appear on the job boards instantly after I save them?

A. Like most up-loaders Turborecruit is designed to batch hundreds of jobs and send to the job board at regular intervals during the day. This way the job board and RecruitAdvanatge can manage the job posting process. We post to some job boards more frequently than others. For example the major job boards (Seek/CareerOne) we post every 1-2 hrs and other job boards less frequently.

In our newer version of Turborecruit we have the ability to receive a file from the job boards and display back to you the success of the job posting process. If the posting process has no errors than in the “Posting Status” column of “Active Ads” we will display an “OK” against the advert, if not then we will display “Issues” against the advert.

The most common reason for an advert not posting is due to account issues with the job boards. They generally turn off the ability to post if your account is in arrears. If your ads are not posting this is the first place to check to ensure that your account is up to date with the job board.
